Cultivating connection through eclectic music & imaginative education.

Lisa Stein (she/her) is a vocalist, cellist, and music educator based in Pittsburgh, PA. Her current work draws on 6 years of experience at Eden Village Camp — and environmental sleepaway camp — where she hired and trained staff, developed educational programs, managed social media, and recruited new families.

Lisa earned her B.A. in Music and Religious Studies from Wesleyan University and is pursuing a Master’s in Music Education at Carnegie Mellon University, where she won the 2025 chamber music competition and researches group composition techniques for liberatory pedagogy. She has presented original research at conferences in domestically and internationally. A lyric mezzo-soprano, she studies voice with Jennifer Aylmer.

As an educator, Lisa teaches Eurhythmics classes at Carnegie Mellon’s Preparatory School and has taught elementary and secondary string, choral, and general music classes in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with the Pittsburgh Girls Choir, Play On Philly, and Musical Mentors Collaborative. She also facilitates teacher training workshops on exploratory approaches to early instrumental education, informed by Eurhythmics and Collective Composition techniques.

She performs with the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir with the Philadelphia Orchestra, including at Carnegie Hall and in the Grammy Award-winning Netflix film Maestro with Bradley Cooper. Lisa also performs locally with the Shadyside Chancel Choir and her Irish band Puffins in the Kitchen.

When she’s not singing, Lisa enjoys painting, embroidering, plant-based cooking, teaching herself harp, and hugging trees.
